Resident Magazine November 2016 Cover Photoshoot - Sam Childer's Interview

On Friday, November 4, 2016, Sam Childers, better known as “The Machine Gun Preacher,” will be speaking at the first Gala to benefit his organization, The Angels of East Africa – a Children’s Village located in South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Uganda for children orphaned by the rebel attacks in the areas.

A perfect combination of Faith and ferocity, many know Mr. Childers from the film based on his life “The Machine Gun Preacher,” featuring Gerard Butler as Sam, that was released 5 years ago.

I had the unbelievable opportunity to produce this event with my marketing and production firm, Starbaby Enterprises, The Angels of East Africa Gala will take place at City Winery on 155 Varick Street from 7-10pm.

The purpose of the event is to create awareness of the atrocities in those parts of Africa and to raise funds for the organization’s current projects; including farm equipment, housing, food, and educational facilities. Those in attendance will enjoy a grandiose evening for a good cause and will have the opportunity to bid on several luxury items for the charity as well as original artwork from the “Angels.”

I was determined to do something special for this wonderful organization and was able to partner with Resident Magazine for the event. We were able to get Sam and one of his biggest supporters -world renowned actor, Michael Shannon - on the November 2016 Resident Magazine Cover.

During the photoshoot I had the opportunity to speak with Sam, Michael, and Celebrity Stylist Phillip Bloch.

(It was a complete surprise that Phillip Bloch was there - i've followed some of this work over the years and recently seen him in the 2005 film, 'The Unseen,' featuring Gale Harold - who was my celebrity crush all through highschool.)
